We aim to provide our customers with quality service delivered by enthusiastic well trained staff. This is achieved with the help of our Chefs, Keith, Doug and Elsie who are gaining awards due to our policy of using locally produced products, freshly preparing them and cooking all meals to order. Our suppliers are mainly local family businesses, which include John Sambrooks butchers, and Ian Watson’s fruit and vegetable merchant. The fresh fish is a speciality delivered directly from the seaports up to five times a week and when available we use our home reared Pork, Lamb and Aberdeen Angus Beef.

The Alvanley Arms is the ideal place to stay for business people who prefer a friendly welcome to the anonymity of many larger hotels. The Alvanley Arms is open all year around offering in summer an attractive Beer Garden overlooking the duck pond and the trout lake beyond and in winter a cosy bar with a glowing log fire.
