The Shire is a breed of heavy horse originating from The Shires of England (Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire) The Shire is the biggest horse in the world and this is our biggest and best room! The Shire room is luxuriously decorated with William Wallace wallpaper matching the bed coverings and drapes. The original beams reflect the fact that The Alvanley Arms has been a coaching inn for over 400 years. Overlooking rolling fields with sheep and cattle, there is a great view especially when the sun sets in a blaze of glory.
