Harry and Julie wish you a warm welcome to the 400 year old Alvanley Arms Hotel at Cotebrook.
The Alvanley Arms is the ideal place to stay for business people who prefer a friendly welcome to the anonymity of many larger hotels.
Why not celebrate a special occasion with a candlelight dinner, fine Wine, a Malt Whisky (or two) and an overnight stay with us here at the Alvanley Arms Inn.
We have seven individually designed guest bedrooms with wonderful views of the Cheshire countryside. Each room has a character and charm of its own retaining the original beams. Fine fabrics and prints adorn the tastefully furnished rooms. They all have an en-suite bath or shower, colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer and free access to the internet via Wi-Fi throughout the building.
Admission free for Alvanley Inn residents to the Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre.

Room 1 - Standard Double Room
The ancient Ardennes breed of heavy horse originates in the Ardennes region of France and Belgium. Our Ardennes room faces north and overlooks a pretty woodland area which is carpeted with bluebells in the spring. It is decorated with Sandersons Rose and Peony wallpaper, bedlinen and drapes. Original beams are a feature of the bathroom.

Room 2 - Single Room
The Shetland is the smallest of the British breeds and hence we have named our smallest room the Shetland room! It is neat and compact with a single bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The original beams feature both in the bedroom and shower room.

Room 3 - Deluxe Double Room
The Clydesdale is the Scottish breed of heavy horse originating from the Clyde Valley. Our Clydesdale room is full of character with the original beams not only in the ceiling of both bedroom and bathroom, but also set into the wall. It has the same view as the Shire Room with lovely evening sunsets.

Room 4 - Standard Twin Room
The Suffolk Punch is the oldest of Britains heavy breeds and originates from Suffolk in East Anglia. Our Suffolk Punch room is on a split level with the bathroom opposite you as you enter and then the bedroom down two steps. Superb views of the lake can be seen from the window in the bedroom, with amazing sunrises dazzling the swans and ducks.

Room 5 - Standard Double Room
The English or Irish Cob is a type of horse which is a cheerful all-rounder but close to the strength structure of a heavy horse. Some say the best views are to be seen from our Cob room which overlooks the beer garden and the lake beyond. Wake up to the sun rising over the lake and spot the heron partly hidden by the morning mist clinging to the water. Beyond can be seen the Shire horses who reside at the adjacent Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre.

The Percheron is a French breed of Heavy horse originating from the Perche region in Normandy. Our Percheron room is a pretty twin room with plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space for longer visits. It has the same view as the Shire Room with lovely evening sunsets.

The Shire is a breed of heavy horse originating from The Shires of England (Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire) The Shire is the biggest horse in the world and this is our biggest and best room! The Shire room is luxuriously decorated with William Wallace wallpaper matching the bed coverings and drapes. The original beams reflect the fact that The Alvanley Arms has been a coaching inn for over 400 years. Overlooking rolling fields with sheep and cattle, there is a great view especially when the sun sets in a blaze of glory.
